Mission Statement
The Louisa Forward Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to support the economic, education and community development programs implemented by the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce.
Impact Programs
Leadership Louisa
Fosters community growth by developing local leadership potential through educational programs, exposure to community organizations, and direct engagement with local leaders. Participants gain essential leadership skills, insights into community issues, and opportunities to contribute through service projects, preparing them for roles of responsibility and positive impact.
Nonprofit Collaborative
Facilitates collaboration between nonprofit organizations and for-profit business through networking opportunities, educational events, and grant writing classes. Highlighted by the annual Nonprofit Summit and the Louisa County Impact Awards, it provides a platform for learning, celebrating community achievements, and fostering partnerships.
Main St. Louisa
Initiated the Town of Louisa's membership in the Virginia Main Street (VMS) network which offers grants, resources, and support. Through managing a dedicated volunteer steering committee, LFF actively fosters economic opportunity and elevates quality of life via community-driven revitalization initiatives, all aligned with the Main Street Approach.
National Civics Bee
The National Civics Bee® is an annual competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.
Participating 6th, 7th and 8th grade students flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes.
Spring Swing Invitational
Golf tournament to drive workforce initiatives and fund a scholarship benefiting graduating seniors from Louisa County High School to pursue higher education at Piedmont Virginia Community College
The Chamber Challenge
Golf tournament to support the Legacy Campaign and fund a scholarship benefiting graduating seriors from Louisa County High School to pursue higher education.
Scholarship Program
Louisa County High School graduates have two scholarship opportunities, $1,000 each. Applications are accepted and the scholarship committee selects the winner for each award.
Legacy Campaign
Campaign to raise funds for the long-term sustainability of the Chamber office and resources available to the business community.
Purpose
To provide financial support for the economic, education and community development activities and programs of the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce.
To promote and develop economic, civic, cultural, and social welfare of the citizens of Louisa County Virginia and surrounding counties through educational programs.
To conduct programs and events to encourage business enterprise in Louisa County Virginia and surrounding counties.
To promote the use of new communications technologies by business, professional and education communities of Louisa County Virginia and surrounding counties.
To promote and support economic and community development through activities that organize or contribute to commerce in Louisa County Virginia and surrounding counties.
To do and perform all legal acts permitted nonprofit corporations necessary and/or convenient to accomplish the above stated purposes.
